Gitai Collection: Moon&Earth

Materials: Paper, Acrylic, Aluminum
Size: W450×H450×D22mm

Print: Sliver Halide Printing

This is a new work created for the solo exhibition “Delicious Planet Museum.” The piece consists of two parts: one is a monochrome photograph of the moon and Earth, and the other is the same photograph, which has been transformed to resemble a fried egg through color adjustments. The clouds on Earth are likened to the heated egg white, and parts that initially appear glossy reveal themselves to be composed of text upon closer inspection. To convey the astronomical theme, the artwork, printed in silver halide, is framed in a gold frame. It was created as a specimen to compare the changes in expression before and after altering the colors.
